Real Course Results with AlgaeZyme
Phil Dwyer, VP Sales & Marketing • November 5, 2025

Tyler Guy, Golf Course Superintendent for Signal Mountain Golf & Country Club, speaks about his first experience with using AlgaeZyme.

How did you first trial AlgaeZyme?

1 application at 0.77floz/m (that rate 3x is the amount of product I had)

How did you measure/compare/notice changes, were there any other related turfgrass responses observed by you or others?

Visually, no negative effects on turf. Algae completely eliminated.

Overall, how did the product perform per your goals/expectations?

The product far outperformed my expectations. Weather conditions were good for fighting algae, but I still did not expect to see that level of control. There are areas where algae is always a battle and AlgaeZyme has worked better than any other products we've tried.

Any other insights or recommendations to share with fellow turfgrass managers considering using AlgaeZyme?

If you have algae, spray AlgaeZyme. Pretty simple.

Not all enzymes are the same and where they come from makes a big difference. At ZymeCO, our laccase enzyme is derived from white rot fungi because they are more potent and stable. This means our enzymes are more effective at breaking down thatch and crop residue.
Enzymes vs Biogicals vs Biostimulants

ZymeCO’s enzyme products are made through a natural fermentation process to work quickly in breaking down organic matter like thatch or crop residue. These bio-active enzymes are not living organisms, which means they’re very consistent, easy to store, and act right away.
